中医英译的基本特点

1  仿造化  
    eg.   liver blood（肝血）
           blood deficiency （血虚）
           activating blood to resolve stasis (活血化淤)
           Asthenia( or deficiency) of yin generates heat and asthenia (or deficiency ) of yang produces cold (阴虚则热，阳虚则寒）

2 定义化
   eg.辨证论治  treatment based on syndrome differentiation
                    or      syndrome differentiation and treatment
                    or      differentiating syndrome to dicide treatment

        奔豚  a syndrome characterized by a feeling of gas rushing up through the thorax to throat from the lower abdomen.

       虚胀  flatulence due to yang-deficiency of the spleen and kidney.


3 多样化
      eg.虚可翻译成  asthenia, deficiency,  insufficiency, weakness, debility, hypofunction等等，而使用时要根据具体情况。

4拼音化
     eg.  气  qi  
           阴阳  yinyang
          气功   qigong
